Financial Services Regulation Update - March
Keep up-to-date with the key developments affecting the financial services sector.
Key areas this month include:
Insurance
The Government has released an exposure draft of the Insurance Contracts Bill, for public feedback. The Bill is intended to give effect to the Government's 2019 policy decisions.
Banks
The Reserve Bank has launched a liquidity policy review, and has issued a consultation paper on the review’s issues, scope, and principles. It is also consulting on dual reporting, which will require internal-ratings based banks to publish risk-weighted asset calculations as well as standardised equivalents. Submissions on the Reserve Bank’s policy for branches of overseas banks, its connected exposures policy, and assurance reports on banks’ disclosure statements close this month.
Cash system
Submissions on the Reserve Bank’s redesign of the cash system close this month.
