Nicky Hall

Nicky is a senior litigation and dispute resolution lawyer, with more than 25 years’ experience in civil and commercial litigation. She is a recognised specialist in property litigation, Public Works Act compensation litigation, rent reviews and contractual, commercial and trust disputes.
Nicky acts on a wide range of commercial and civil disputes. Her experience includes banking, contract, company, and trust litigation. She has extensive advocacy experience in arbitrations and Court (including in specialist Tribunals such as the Māori Land Court and the Land Valuation Tribunal).
She has also conducted many mediations on behalf of clients. She has particular expertise and interest in evaluative mediation.
Nicky has an in-depth knowledge of dispute resolution procedures and strategies. She provides direct and practical advice for resolving disputes to achieve the best possible outcome for clients.
Nicky is a faculty member of the New Zealand Law Society Litigation Skills Programme. She is also a member of the New Zealand Law Society Practice Approval Committee; the New Zealand Law Society National Friends Panel; and the Auckland Women Lawyers' Association.

Fletcher Residential
Representing Fletchers in successful proceedings in the Māori Land Court and Tenancy Tribunal in relation to claims by protesters on Fletcher’s land at Ihumātao.
Tauranga City Council
Acting for the Council to obtain agreement from a large number of land owners to modify covenants to allow Council land to be used for roading to enable development of adjoining land.
Evaluative mediations
Including acting for acquiring authorities in mediations to settle compensation for acquisitions such as the Northcote Town Centre and the City Rail Link.
Tauranga City Council
Proceedings in the Māori Land Court and High Court to successfully obtain an injunction against protest action threatening to halt construction of the Southern Pipeline in Tauranga.
