Simpson Grierson welcomes two new senior associates
We’re pleased to announce the appointment of two new Senior Associates: India Townsend and Christine Gordon.
India was recently promoted to Senior Associate in our highly-ranked Employment team, and Christine joins us as a lateral hire to our renowned Construction team, as a Senior Associate.
India’s promotion comes less than a year after joining Simpson Grierson, prior to which she worked for several years in leading London and New Zealand law firms.
Before returning to New Zealand India was searching for a role that would provide exposure to a broad range of high quality clients and a good mix of contentious, non-contentious and corporate advisory work - and she has found just that at Simpson Grierson.
Meanwhile, Christine boosts our Construction Law practice, bringing with her over 12 years’ experience as a specialist construction lawyer at top tier firms, and market-leading construction teams, both in New Zealand and London.
Christine has experience acting on a range of construction projects for principals, contractors, consultants and insurers, and is looking forward to being involved in a mix of contentious and non-contentious construction and infrastructure matters, which will be able to draw on her experience advising clients both in New Zealand and overseas.
Both India and Christine add to the depth of talent across two of our key practice areas: employment and construction, and their skillsets will certainly complement their respective teams.
Simpson Grierson has what is widely considered to be New Zealand’s leading employment law practice, and is the exclusive New Zealand member of the global Employment Law Alliance. Our construction lawyers have a depth and breadth of experience unrivalled by any other law firm in the country. It is known internationally for offering robust and strategic advice that is pragmatic and technically sound.
