We’re delighted to announce the promotion to Senior Associate of Edward Colenbrander and Zak Nasir as well as the appointment of Senior Associate Samantha Knott, who joins the firm after several years working in London. 

All three are based in the Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland office, with Edward working in the firm’s leading Construction Law practice, Samantha boosting the Financial Services Litigation team, and Zak complementing Simpson Grierson’s highly regarded Real Estate practice.

About Edward Colenbrander

Edward specialises in dispute resolution and construction litigation, with a focus on resolving building defects disputes. He joined Simpson Grierson’s Construction Law practice five years ago - a team of specialised lawyers who have been involved in most of the major construction projects across the motu.

About Samantha Knott

Specialising in Financial Services Litigation, Samantha has expertise in insolvency, debt recovery, contractual disputes, directors’ duties, shareholder disputes, fraud, and regulatory enforcement. She regularly advises major banks, company officers and insolvency practitioners, both in New Zealand and overseas. 

About Zak Nasir

Zak works in Simpson Grierson’s highly regarded Real Estate practice and further strengthens the team’s expertise. Zak has been with the firm nearly three years and is a projects and property developments specialist, with a focus on large scale property development projects, including advising on the acquisition, complex land development arrangements and sale or lease of those properties.
